Paris Saint-Germain have submitted an opening bid of £25 million for Arsenal full-back Hector Bellerin.

Football London’s James Benge claims Bellerin is still conflicted on the Arsenal rebuild under Arteta despite the impressive run under the former Manchester City assistant manager. Many sides are keen on landing the Spaniard including French giants PSG, German star-studded side Bayern Munich, and Serie A champs Juventus.

PSG moved to a new height this season as they reached their first final in the Champions League. Though they lost out to Bayern, it was an important milestone and showed growth. The Han-Dieter Flick led side won the tournament, crowning their good run all season but PSG are reworking their team to ensure an even better show next season.

Coach Thomas Tuchel isn’t resting though when it comes to strengthening his side for another European run next term.

According to The Guardian the French giants were in contact with Arsenal last week regarding a potential deal for Bellerin. Les Perisien are ready for another off the field duel with Bayern in the race for the Spanish international.

However, PSG have attempted to seize the initiative by sending an opening bid worth an initial £25 million with a further £5m in add-ons to the Gunners.

Bellerin, 25, is under contract with Arsenal until June 2023. Arteta has said in the past that the club needs to balance the books. He admitted that few stars will have to go in order to make new additions. It is understood that Bellerin is one of the players Arteta is willing to let go this summer to help balance the books following the arrivals of Pablo Mari, Willian, Cédric Soares and Gabriel Magalhães.

Bellerin is also open to the move as he seeks new challenges in his career. Arsenal will not sanction the sale of Bellerin for anything less than £40 million. PSG and other interested parties are aware. But PSG have taken the initiative by making the first offer for the full back.

Former Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has revealed that he will be disappointed should Bellerin leave the club. But he admitted that he understands the position of the club as he wishes his former teammates the best in future.
